Outbreak of the war, 1939; establishment of the Judenrat; anti-Jewish decrees; deportation with a group of youths to forced labor laying railroad tracks and in carpentry for Reichsautobahn (R.A.B), Tisha B'Av-August 1941; transfer to Eberswalde to labor producing shell casings; separation from his brother; stay in camp in a smaller group; deteriortation of conditions, hunger, punishments; deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau, late 1943; arrival in Auschwitz-Birkenau; joins a group of skilled professionals; transfer to Buna camp; labor in Kommando 162 as a building moulder; a Kapo named Nisim, a friendly Czech Jew; transfer to Gleiwitz, January 1945; transport in open train cars to Dora camp in Buchenwald; transfer from Buchenwald to Ellrich camp; arrival to Sachsenhausen camp under complete exhaustion after transfer without food; death march.
Arrival to a DP camp in Salzburg; counselor in the Jewish orphanage in Munich; meets his future wife; aliya to Israel, 1949; quick absorption.
