Anschluss; staying at home for several weeks; her father's arrest and release; Kristallnacht; her father's arrest and release; the group that got together to do leather work in her house; her father's attempt to leave, his refusal to leave his money behind, and her mother's refusal to be separated from her parents in Czechoslovakia; her father's depression; deterioration of the situation; the trip to England to the Partington family in Bristol; travel to France by train, 1939; travel to England by ship; life with a Christian family; her move to the Cainer family, a Jewish physician's family in Bradford, where she remained until the end of the war; weak contact with her family until 1941; studying early childhood education and her work as a volunteer and for pay; life in England during the war; activities in the Habonim movement; life in a training camp shared by Britons and refugees, and farm work and child care; meets her husband.
Illegal immigration to Eretz Israel via Belgium and a displaced persons camp in Marseilles, and on the ship "Narkis"; the shortage of food and harassment by British battleships; entry into the Haifa port in June 1948; rehabilitation and absoption.
