Testimony of Hana (Frankl) Miko, born in Eger, 1924, regarding her experiences in Podebrady, Theresienstadt, Auschwitz-Birkenau and forced labor in Oederan camp Her family; attends a German elementary school; attends a Czech high school; Heinlein movement; her father's death; annexation of the Sudentland to Germany; life in her uncle's house in Podebrady; Czechoslovakia's change of status to a German protectorate; entry of the Germans; anti-Jewish legislation; termination of her studies; confiscation of property; her mother's detention in the Straftransporte prison; deportation with her mother to Theresienstadt; child care in the Kinderheim; ghetto life; deportation to Auschwitz; deportation on the tenth transport to Birkenau; transfer from camp tp camp until her arrival at Oederan camp and labor in the ammunitions factory; camp conditions and treatment by the SS personnel in camp K21; striped clothing; approach of the Russian front; travel back and forth on the train until the return to Theresienstadt; the German withdrawal in late April 1945; liberation by the Red Army. Return to Prague; convalescence from tuberculosis in the Tatra Mountains; studying in an accelerated course for laboratory technicians; work; aliya to Israel via Bari on the ship "Galila", 1949.
