Decrees against the Jews during the war; draft of men to forced labor; transfer of Jews from Sofia to outlying areas, 1943; deportation with her family to Vidin; transfer to Russe; life in Russe; finding an apartment outside the town; labor of her parents; attends a Jewish-Hebrew school; attitudes of the nuns in the convent where her mother taught; liberation by the Red Army, 1944.
Return to Sofia; life under Communism including studies; aliya of the family to Israel on the ship, "Bulgaria", 1949.
