From a religious family; attends "heder" and yeshiva in Vijnita; membership process for joining the Communist Party, 1936.
Escape from Iasi to Galati due to detention of party members, 1940; help from the local Jewish community; move to Chernovitz; deportation of Jews by the Soviets; German occupation, 1941; capture and deportation on foot to Edineti; transfer to Mogilev-Podolski; forced labor for two years; escape to Iasi, 1944; help from the Jewish community; knowledge concerning the fate of his father; liberation of Iasi by the Red Army.
Work in the Romanian Securitate; reasons for his escape to France, 1948; life in Paris.
