Testimony of Arie Artur Alter, born in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia, 1915, regarding his experiences in Ostrava, Nisko, Stanislawow, Siberia and in the Czech Brigade His childhood in Ostrava; attends a Czech school; activities in the Tehelet Lavan youth movement. Deportation to Nisko in a group of 1,000 Jews; labor building a concentration camp; escape to Stanislawow, in Soviet Union territory and then he follows the Red Army to Siberia; labor logging trees; joins the Czech Brigade and participates in battles in the vicinity of Kharkov and Kiev; liberation, April 1945. Hospitalization in a hospital in Zilina, Slovakia following injury; return to Ostrava; marriage; service in the Czech Army; aliya to Israel, 1949.
