Testimony of Yehoshua Sofer, born in Borszczow, 1919, regarding his experiences in Borszczow and hiding in forests Traditional home. Occupation, summer 1941; forced labor; establishment of the Judenrat; three "Aktions" and liquidation of the ghetto during Shavuot, 1943; escape from the city to the forests; hiding in a bunker for a year; contact with Jewish partisans; help from local non-Jews in getting food and clothes; liberation by the Red Army, beginning 1944. Recruitment to the Polish Army; entering Majdanek camp as a soldier; wounded during battle near Gallowek, January 1945; recovery in a Polish hospital; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1948.
