His parents are from the Rabbi Tennenbaum and Rabbi Nuefeld families.
Draft of his father to forced labor in Kunmadaras, 1942; arrival of refugees from Poland and Slovakia; German occupation, March 1944; closure of the family's shop; deportation to the Sajoszentpeter Ghetto, May 1944; drafted to a labor battalion; transfer to Jelsava; camp life including agricultural labor and in forests; failed escape attempts; transfer to Palmonostora, September 1944; life in Pelmonostor including forced labor in forests; retreat towards Budapest, November 1944; air-raids; attempts to receive exit permits; transfer to Ugocsa, January-February 1945; life in Ugocsa including labor in the forests supervised by the SS; meets bunker survivors headed by Rezso Kasztner amd Rabbi Michael Dov Weissmandel, April 1945; supplying food to the group; joins the group in Krunla; transfer to Switzerland.
Locates relatives who survived; return to Hungary.
