Hasidic family with three children; his father owned a corner grocery shop; outbreak of war, 1939; journey to the free town of Olkusz; life in Olkusz until 1942; deportation to Niederkichen labor camp; forced labor building the Vienna-Berlin Autostrada; deportation to Markstaedt; establishment of Krupp weapons factory; forced labor until March 1944; deportation to Fuenfteichen camp accompanied by the SS; deportation to Kittlitztreben camp; forced labor laying railroad tracks; forced labor dismantling barracks; march on foot to Buchenwald concentration camp, February 1945; liberation by the US Army.
Convalescence; transfer to Switzerland with a group led by Captain Schachter; moved to Geneva; learning a profession; marriage and aliya to Israel in 1950.
