Soviet occupation, 1939; harassment of Jews; work in a shop in Lida; outbreak of the war, 1941; escape to Tashkent; life in Bukhara including work in a bakery and as a guard in a cotton wool factory, 1942-1945; end of the war. Returnt to Poland, 1945; meets representatives of the Kibbutz Movement in Sosnowiec; move to Austria; life in Austria and work in the kitchen of Kibbutz Borohov; aliya to Israel, 1949.
