German occupation, March 1944; concentration of the Jews from assembly points; deportation of his father; separation; placed in a Jewish orphanage by his step-mother; life in the orphanage, and the children in the orphanage; escape during the transfer of the orphanage children to a ghetto; hidden by a Hungarian who was his father's business partner until it becomes too dangerous for the man to hide Jews; wanderings along the roads; joins a family that has many children; deportation to a ghetto; transfer to a children's home under the protection of the Red Cross; arrival of the Red Army to Budapest, February 1945; liberation.
Joins a Youth Aliyah institution; aliya preparations and travel to Eretz Israel that lasts two years; fostered by a Youth Aliyah counselor named Esther; absorption in Kibbutz Yagur.
