Testimony of Adela Bar Eli, born in Stryj, Poland, 1909, regarding her experiences in the Drohobycz Ghetto, Lvov and in hiding German occupation of Drohobycz, late June 1941; pogrom by Ukrainians with help from the Germans, which lasts for three days, in which hundreds of Stryj Jews are murdered or injured; economic hardships at the start of the occupation; establishment of the Judenrat in Drohobycz; detentions and deportations of Jews to Belzec camp; murder of 300 Jews in the Bronica forest near Drohobycz; establishment of the Drohobycz Ghetto after the large "Aktion", August 1942; housing and nutrition hardships; concentration of the surviving Jews from surrounding towns in the ghetto; German demands to hand over Jews who are unfit for labor; in hiding with her child and other Jews during one of the "Aktions"; suffocation of children by their mothers while in hiding; murder of the deputy head of the Judenrat, Rotenberg; travel to Lvov with her son, disguised as a Christian, to search for temporary housing in the city; detention by a Ukrainian policeman who blackmails her for money and valuables; in hiding in a Polish friend's home; her husband is a physician in one of the clinics in Lvov; reduction in the ghetto's size following the deportations to Belzec; manhunt for people who are in hiding; looting of murdered people's possessions by Ukrainians and Germans; life in hiding with her husband and son; liberation by the Red Army. Life under Soviet rule after the war; repatriation to Poland; aliya to Israel, 1948.
