Drafted into the Yugoslavian Army, April 1941; escape and detention; evades deportation to a camp; escape to Split under the protection of the Italian authorities; transfer to Korcula, 1942; camp life under the supervision of the Italian Army; life in Vis including joining Yugoslavian partisans, 1942; life with the partisans as a veterinarian; help to the local residents; establishment of improvised hospitals for the local residents and the partisans; escape to Bari, 1944; life in Bari including meeting Jewish Brigade soldiers and British soldiers; transfer to another partisan unit in Yugoslavia; life with the partisans including liberation of Belgrade with Soviet Army soldiers. Life as a Yugoslavian Army soldier until 1952; aliya to Israel, 1952.
