After the German’s entry into Zdolbunow (Rowne district) on 20/06/1941 Helena decided not to wear an arm band in order to be able to move freely around the town. On 31/01/1941 Helena’s first son was born while Germans searched for town’s men. Helena’s husband safely hid under her birthing bed.
