Life in Kharkov during the German occupation on 24 October 1941; local Jews are ordered to move to the ghetto to the area of the tractor factory by 15 December 1941; living in hiding with Ukrainian friends of her stepfather; receiving news regarding the murder of Jews in Babiy Yar from women who escaped from Kiev to the area; lack of water and food in Kharkov; murder of Jews from the ghetto on the night between 31 December 1941 and 1 January 1942; search for Jews in hiding outside the ghetto; receiving forged papers and escape from Kharkov; begging in the villages along the way; living in hiding in Baromlya for two weeks; life in hiding in Viry; escape to Kobylki after being informed against; escape to an abandoned house in Glushkovo; work in different villages in exchange for food; severely wounded in air-raids; receiving medical help at a Wehrmacht hospital; the liberation of the Kursk region by the Red Army in September 1943; return to Kharkov and receiving valid ID cards.
