Testimony of David Schlesinger, born in Velky Meder, 1928, regarding his experiences after the occupation in Komarom and Auschwitz, Eintrachthuette, Aushwitz-Birkenau, Buna-Monowitz camps Life before the war including school and Beitar activities. His fathers trading permit was suspended after the area was annexed into Hungary, November 1938; entry of the Germans into Hungary, March 1944; deportation of the family to Komarom; life in Komarom; deportation of the family to Auschwitz-Birkenau; life in Barrack 21; transport via Katowice to the Eintrachthuette labor camp; life in the camp; transport to Buna-Monowitz and life in the camp; liberation of the camp by the Red Army, January 1945. Medical treatment in barrack 10 in Auschwitz and Bielsko convalescent home; return to Velky Meder and reunion with family members who survived; joining the Hashomer Hatzair training in Kosice; work in a Eretz Israel office in Prague; activities in the Bericha organization; aliya to Israel, June 1949; joining a settlement group in Kibbutz Merchavia; starting a family.
