Testimony of Gershon Eichenbaum Peterseil, born in Oswiecim, 1925, regarding his experiences in Blechammer labor camp, Buchenwald and a death march His immediate family; community life in Oswiecim; attends "heder" and Jewish elementary school. Drafted to labor in Polish military camp, March-April 1940; labor in Polish villages; labor in Blechammer camp producing iron containers for fuel storage; the camp elder, Karl Demerer; Allied air-raids on the camp; transfer of inmates by marching to an assembly point in an open field, from where they traveled in open train cars to the Gross-Rosen camp; transfer several days later to Weimar; air-raid on railroad station; transfer on trucks to Buchenwald; death march to Flossenburg camp; liberation of camp and hospitalization. Aliya to Israel via Cyprus, 1948; recruitment to the IDF and participation in Israel's War of Independence.
