Testimony of Josef Shlomo Burg, born in Dresden, 1909, regarding his experiences in Berlin during Kristallnacht, establishing housing for pioneers in Germany, Zionist activities in Zurich and Geneva, and in Aliya Bet Religious family; school; his father is a founder of Hamizrachi; rabbinical seminary studies in Berlin; university studies; move to Leipzig; Mizrachi Hatzair movement activities; Nazi rise to power in Magdeburg, 1932; Zionist activities under Nazi supervision; return to the rabbinical seminary in Berlin to complete his studies; voted to the Zionist executive committee; active in developing housing for pioneers during agricultural training in and outside Germany; participation in the Zionist Congress in Zurich, August 1937; deportation of Polish Jews to Zbaszyn; Kristallnacht and its ramifications; participation in the Zionist Congress in Geneva, 1939; aliya to Eretz Israel and return to Europe; activities in the Aliya Bet center in Geneva until his return aliya to Eretz Israel, 1940; absorption in Israel and his activities until the 1990s.
