Childhood in Berehovo; traditional Zionist family; her father is a journalist; meeting of her father with Herzl in Vienna; activities in a Zionist youth movement; move of the family to Bratislava, 1930; studies medicine in university and continues her Zionist activities; visit to Eretz Israel with a student group, 1934; cancellation of the family's emigration to Canada due to the German occupation of Prague, 15 March 1939; return to Bratislava with her mother and sister; deportation to the Hungarian border; return to Bratislava with the help of smugglers; travel of her sister to England; work as a physicain; receives a permit from the university; life in fear; her father's surgery while receiving help from the Minister of Health, 1943; transfer to a hospital in Velke Levare, 1943; posititve attitude of the the workers; false accusations by the hospital administration; rescue from murder; work as a physicain in the suburbs of the city; Neilah prayer on Yom Kippur 5705, 1944; the promise to keep the Jews in the town; deportation of the Jews the day after Yom Kippur; in hiding with her parents in Vala Sikova; obtains forged documents; escape to Bratislava.
