German occupation and anti-Jewish legislation, 1941; escape of the family to Pancevo, April 1941; informed on and sent with her mother, who was in the late stage of pregnancy, to an assembly point for the Jews of Beograd hospital; unusual details about the Kovin hospital, from which Jews were deported; visit to her uncle (her mother's brother) in Topovske Supe; deportation to Sajmiste after three months and the birth of her sister; harsh conditions in camp; hunger, disease; they join a group of Gypsies who leave the camp for labor; escape from the labor camp and return home to Starcevo; in hiding at home for three years, fear of Volksdeutsche informers in the village; help from neighbors who bring food baskets to the entrance of their house; liberation. Acts of revenge; death of her step-father; aliya to Eretz Israel.
