Testimony of Mordechai (Max Rabinovici) Ben Chorin, born in Ploesti, Romania, 1921, regarding his experiences in Ploesti and as a forced laborer for the Romanian Army The Jewish community of Ploesti; activities in the Beitar youth movement. Arrest by the Romanians, 1941; deportation to forced labor for the Romanian Army in the areas of Gaest, next to Pitesti, and Galati then in Bessarabia in the areas of Braila Cubei, Cairaclia and Janka; his labor there; liberation, 1944. Contact with the aliya office in Bucharest; travel from Constanta until Istanbul in the "Salah-a-Din" ship, and from there by train to Haifa; joins the Irgun and his activities in the organization; enlists in the IDF, 1948.
