Annexation to the Soviet Union, 1939; nationalization of the family's business; German occupation, 1941; pogrom by Ukrainians; his father's work sewing fur; "Aktion"; capture of his father and his release with help from the German man who had employed him; deportation to the Boryslaw Ghetto; preparation of a hiding place; many "Aktions"; transfer with his father and sister to a labor camp for fuel company employees, in preparation for the liquidation of the Boryslaw Ghetto; his father obtains two hiding places in the forest; move to the forest, spring 1944; in hiding with others for three to five months; liberation.
Enlists in the Red Army at the age of 16; combat in Yugoslavia, Hungary and Vienna; release from the Red Army; return to Poland; activities in the Gordonia movement; aliya to Israel, 1948.
