Testimony of Pinkhas Segal, born in Wielun, 1927, regarding his experiences in the Wielun and Lodz Ghettos, Skarzysko Kamienna, Buchenwald, Schlieben and Theresienstadt camps His childhood in a family of Gur hasidim. German occupation, September 1939; abuse of Jews and using them for various forced labors; deportation of his parents and brother to Chelmno and their murder there, April 1941; liquidation of the Wielun Ghetto, 1941; murder of elderly and sick people in the cemetery; deportation to the Lodz Ghetto; labor in a ghetto factory; labor in Zdunska Wola; transfer to Skarzysko Kamienna, winter 1942; stay in camp B; labor in an ammunitions factory; transfer to Buchenwald, 1943; transfer to Schlieben; labor in a factory for explosive materials; humane behavior of a female German worker; Allied air-raids on the camp and revenge on the inmates by Hitler-Jugend; transfer to Theresienstadt, 1944; liberation by the Red Army, May 1945. Acts of revenge on non-Jews in the area; return to Wielun; antisemitic manifestations; move to Lodz; joins Bnei Akiva training; move to Landsberg; aliya to Eretz Israel via Cyprus, 1946; participation in Israel's War of Independence.
