His childhood and family background; membership in a youth group; strengthening of Jewish identity after 1933; move to Breslau, 1935; studies in a rabbinical seminary; burning of the synagogue on Kristallnacht; detention of Jews who are Polish citizens; arrest and deportation to Buchenwald; forced labor in quarries; diphtheria; help from members of the Communist underground; release thanks to obtaining a certificate.
Aliya to Eretz Israel, 1939; absorption; attitude of Israeli society towards Jews of German origin.
