Testimony of Tova Shavit, born in Levice, 1928, regarding her experiences in Levice and Hessisch Lichtenau, Auschwitz and Waldsee camps Childhood in Levice; her father is a lawyer. Annexation to Hungary, November 1938; arrest of well-to-do Jews, among them her father, under the suspicion of spying and their imprisonment for a year in Hungary, March 1939; her father is interrogated concerning his property; deportation to a ghetto, April 1944; deportation to Auschwitz, May 1944; separation from her family; transfer to Hessisch Lichtenau; concern of Mueller, the prison guard; for the female inmates; labor in an ammunitions factory; stealing food; deportation to Waldsee camp, January 1945; evacuation to Leipzig, February 1945; air raids; death march; liberation by the US Army, 25 April 1945. Transfer of the female inmates to Wurzen; return to Levice, 1946; illegal immigration with the help of the Bericha organization via Brussels, Marseille; Paris and Prague, winter 1947; deportation to Cyprus; release and aliya to Israel, January 1949.
