Decrees and difficulties making a living following the German occupation; concentration of the Jews and deportation in the direction of Glowno, 27 December 1939; separation of the family; arrival in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski; forced labor; transport of elderly Jewish intellectuals from Vienna who were left to freeze to death near Ostrowiec; help given to the Jews by the Volksdeutsche and others; rescue by a German named Krezel during an "Aktion"; labor in a steel plant; transfer to Auschwitz-Birkenau and then to Jaworzno, August 1944; meets with Jewish inmates from Eretz Israel; death march, 17 January 1945; liberation at Blechhammer. Return to Aleksandrow, the only Jew to return; aliya to Israel, 1957; details about the murder of a childhood friend, who was a Jewish partisan, by Polish partisans in the area of Ostrowiec.
