Escape of her family to the mountains due to German air-raids; in hiding in bunkers and trenches; hunger; Italian occupation of the island; concentration of the Jews in a military camp in Piraeus; detention in Athens; deportation to Auschwitz on a freight train; separation between men and women; murder of the elderly people; labor logging trees; hunger, beatings and filth; transfer of the female inmates to labor in a grenade factory in Germany and harsh conditions.
