Testimony of Moshe David Cassuto, born in Firenze, 1937, regarding his experiences in hiding in Italy Family events in Firenze; his father is an opthamologist and rabbi; termination of his father's employment due to racial laws; move to Milan, 1939; return of the family to Firenze when his father is asked to be rabbi of the community, 1943; German occupation; in hiding in a monastery with his mother and three siblings; arrest of his father and mother; hidden by a Christian family in the suburbs of Firenze until the end of the war, 1945. Aliya to Eretz Israel with his grandparents and aunt, 1945; reunion with his mother who survived the camps and reached Eretz Israel, 1946; his mother was killed in 1948.
