Massacre in Krasnobrod (Lodz), October 1942; entry of the remaining Jews to an unfinished house and their murder; his escape and his sister's escape; in hiding near the village of their birthplace, Hutkow, where their family had lived as Jews for three generations; wanderings in distant villages and life using a false identity until the liberation by the Red Army, July 1944. Joins aliya training in Czestochowa, 1945; aliya to Eretz Israel on the "Tel Hai" ship via Czechoslovakia, Germany, Deggendorf, Belgium and Chateau Boner, March 1946.
