Her family and life in Memel; death of her mother when the witness was 4 years old; her life with foster families.
German occupation, 1939; move to Kaunas; meets her father; travel to Berlin; travel to Geneva by train and then to Zurich; life in Switzerland as refugees and the attitude of the Swiss toward the Jews; receives help from a voluntary organization run by Quakers that found her a place to live in a Christian home for two years; membership and activities in Zionist youth movements; life in a Youth Aliyah home, 1944-1945.
Aliya to Eretz Israel with her father and a group of children, 1945.
