German occupation of Kaunas; pogrom by Lithuanians; deportation to the Kaunas Ghetto, 1941; murder of 500 Jewish intellectuals in the Ninth Fort in Kaunas; witness joins an underground organization in the Kaunas Ghetto lead by Chaim Yellin; an organized escape to a forest; joins the "Death to the Occupiers" partisan brigade; death of her partisan brother and her father, at the age of 64, during an attempt to escape from the Ninth Fort; combat in the Rudniki forests; service as a nurse in "The Liberator" partisans brigade; liberation by the Red Army, July 1944. Return to Kaunas; aliya to Israel, 1972.
