Testimony of Sheindl Ginsburg, born in Brisk, 1921, regarding her experiences in the Brisk Ghetto and with the partisans in the Polesie forests Outbreak of the war; the collapse of the Polish Army; absorption of refugees from western Poland in Brisk; entry of the Red Army; outbreak of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany; entry of the Germans into Brisk; defense of an ancient fortress by the remaining Soviet Army garrison, over the course of a month; the murder of her father together with 600 additional Brisk Jews; establishment of the Brisk Ghetto, autumn 1941; Judenrat; organization of an underground with the aim of obtaining weapons and escaping to the partisans; in hiding without food or water for 20 days; hardships en route to the Polesie forests; meets a group of Russian partisans; return to the ghetto after difficulties adjusting to life in the forest; in hiding in the ghetto for two months; another escape to the forest; joins the partisans; cares for the wounded; murder of Jewish partisans by Soviet partisans; hanging of Germans by Jewish partisans as acts of revenge. Aliya to Israel on the "Exodus" ship, 1948.
