Testimony of Leah (Erbs-Gasner) Kohen, born in Kobilecka-Polana, 1926, regarding her experiences in the Mateszalka Ghetto, Auschwitz, Freiburg and Mauthausen Childhood with relatives in Bogdan. Annexation to Hungary; life during Hungarian rule, 1928-1939; arrival of refugees from Poland; German occupation of Hungary; concentration of the Jews in a school; deportation to the Mateszalka Ghetto; robbery of their property by gendarmes; ghetto life; deportation to Auschwitz; meets her sister and female cousins; camp life including selection conducted by Josef Mengele, October 1944; transfer to Freiburg women's camp; camp life including labor in an aircraft parts factory; death march to Mauthausen, April 1945; liberation by the US Army, May 1945. Return to Hungary; joins Dror Habonim and aliya training; en route with Bericha till Italy; aliya attempt on the "Arba Heruyoth” ship; deportation to Cyprus; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1947; training on various kibbutzim: founding member of Kibbutz Parod, 1949.
