Soviet occupation; life during the Communist rule, 1939-1941; German occupation, 1941-1942; confiscation of property; deportation to the Kolomyja Ghetto; rescue by a German during an "Aktion"; in hiding with additional Jews, 1942; escape in the direction of Romania; in hiding under the house of a Czernowitz Jew, 1943; escape to the Bucharest and Slatina area; obtains a Swiss protective passport; air-raids on Romanian oil fields.
Move to Eretz Israel via Bulgaria, Syria and Lebanon, 1944.
