Escape in the direction of the east with his mother; outbreak of the war, September 1939; move to Rowne; life under the Soviet occupation as a refugee; refusal to accept Soviet citizenship; exile to Siberia with his mother, June 1940; his mother's illness; stay in Asino in Novosibirsk; move to a forced labor camp with his mother; camp life including various forced labor assignments; receives a pardon, 1941; attempt to enlist in the Anders Army; refusal to accept Jews into the Anders Army; enlists in the Polish Army; military training in Sielce, summer 1943; attitude toward the Jews; accepted to a unit in the Polish Air Force; joins the first fighter squadron of interception aircraft, the "Warsaw" squadron; participation of Jews in a pilots' course; activities in combat missions including reconnaissance and provision of covering fire; end of the war.
Studies in Poland; completes studies and degree in mechanical engineering; aliya to Israel, 1957.
