Testimony of Kazimierz Rotenberg, born in Krakow, Poland, 1924, regarding his experiences in Rowne, Siberia, Asino and in the Polish Army in Sielce Escape in the direction of the east with his mother; outbreak of the war, September 1939; move to Rowne; life under the Soviet occupation as a refugee; refusal to accept Soviet citizenship; exile to Siberia with his mother, June 1940; his mother's illness; stay in Asino in Novosibirsk; move to a forced labor camp with his mother; camp life including various forced labor assignments; receives a pardon, 1941; attempt to enlist in the Anders Army; refusal to accept Jews into the Anders Army; enlists in the Polish Army; military training in Sielce, summer 1943; attitude toward the Jews; accepted to a unit in the Polish Air Force; joins the first fighter squadron of interception aircraft, the "Warsaw" squadron; participation of Jews in a pilots' course; activities in combat missions including reconnaissance and provision of covering fire; end of the war. Studies in Poland; completes studies and degree in mechanical engineering; aliya to Israel, 1957.
