Escape from the German air-raids to Middelkerke, 1940; crosses the border to France on foot; unsuccessful attempt to escape to England; return to Antwerp; in hiding during the deportation to Mechelen, 15 August 1942; escape to the home of their former maid; in hiding in an attic in a house in Auade-god for two years; leaves the hiding place during the air-raids in a state of malnutrition, 1944. Return to Antwerp; aliya to Israel with all of her siblings; marriage; starts a family.
