Draft of his father into the Yugoslavian Army; his father is taken into captivity; German occupation; deportation to Djakovo; camp life; escape to Osijek, February 1942; escape to Split which is under Italian occupation; transfer to Korcula Island, October 1942; camp life; help from the local community; joins the Yugoslavian partisans, September 1943; service in various partisan units; wounded; German captivity. Return to Israel, 1948.
