Annexation to Hungary, 1940; displays of antisemitism and abuse of the Jews; studies in Budapest; German occupation, March 1944; return home; concentration of the Jews in the Budapest Ghetto after Pesach (mid-April) 1944; deportation to Auschwitz on the last transport; absorption in the camp including disinfection; transfer to Birkenau; labor in an agricultural kommando; whippings; contact with an SS man; High Holiday prayers; liquidation of the camp, January 1945; transfer to Buchenwald; transfer to Rhemsdorf; camp life including digging trenches; transfer to Marienburg; burial of the dead; death march to Theresienstadt; liberation. Return to Transylvania; unsuccessful attempt to make aliya to Eretz Israel on the ship, "Af-Al-Pi-Chen"; detention in Cyprus.
