Soviet rule; continuation of Zionist activities in an underground manner; German occupation; attempts to escape from Nowogrodek; anti-Jewish decrees; establishment of the Judenrat; organizing resistance groups; obtains weapons; makes contact with Polish partisans; establishment of two ghettos in Nowogrodek; "Aktions"; organizing mutual help; preparations for an uprising; execution of a man suspected of collaboration with the Germans; escape from the Nowogrodek Ghetto, September 1943; joins the Bielski partisans group; combat with the partisans until the liberation.
