Testimony of Natan Orbach, born in Zamosc, Poland, 1906, regarding his experiences in the Zamosc Ghetto, Majdanek, Auschwitz, Buchenwald and other places Outbreak of the war, 1939; German occupation for a short time; Soviet occupation; outbreak of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany; German re-occupation; escape to Lwow; return to Zamosc; attempt to return to Lwow with his family; sealing of the border by the Soviets; establishment of the ghetto in Zamosc; ghetto life including "Aktions" and executions; living quarters in a camp outside the ghetto including labor as a closer, the shoemaking craftsman who makes the uppers for shoes; deportation to Majdanek; camp life for four weeks; transfer to Auschwitz, May 1943; camp life including labor in coal mines in the vicinity; labor as a closer-shoemaker in the shoemaking workshop; death march, 18 January 1945; transfer to the Laslau railroad station; transfer to Buchenwald; camp life including labor in the shoemaking workshop; meets Yulek Grinboim, the Kapo from Auschwitz and an activist in the camp underground (?) whose father Yitzhak was a representative in the Polish Parliament; liberation by the US Army, 11 April 1945. Return to Poland; life in Germany; aliya to Israel, 1948.
