Testimony of David Frankfurter, born in Daruvar, Yugoslavia, 1909, regarding his experiences as the assassin of Nazi leader Wilhelm Gustloff in Davos, Switzerland Witness is the son of Rabbi Moshe Frankfurter; attempt by soldiers and officers from the armies in Denikin and Petliura to organize a pogrom against the Jews of Daruvar; thwarting of the murder of Jews due to the intervention of a commander of the local police; witness' medical studies in Germany, 1929-1933; receives a hand gun from a German Jewish officer in order to murder one of the Nazi leaders; his possibility to assassinate Goebbels while the witness was disguised as a German at the Nazi assemblies in Frankfurt; continuation of the witness' studies in Bern, 1930s. Decision to murder Wilhelm Gustloff, Hitler's representative in Switzerland; Gustloff's activities in the organization of Nazi attack brigades; influence of the murder of Petliura by Sholom Schwartzbard in Paris; witness obtains a hand gun; his move to Davos, Gustloff's place of residence; witness informs his father in a farewell letter about his decision to murder Gustloff; murder of Gustloff, 04 April 1936; witness voluntarily hands himself over to the police; witness’ meeting with his father and brother in the prison; witness' trial in the hall of the canton parliament house in the presence of journalists from Switzerland and foreign journalists; his legal defense by attorneys Willer and Kurt; sentenced to imprisonment and harsh labor for 18 years; prison life for 10 years.
