Testimony of Icchak Friedrich, born in Katowice, Poland, 1933, regarding his experiences as a young child in Rakowice, Plaszow, Auschwitz, Melk and other places German occupation; deportation to Kakowice, 1940; labor in a labor station by the Rakowice airfield; labor as a shepherd on a farm; deportation to Plaszow; camp life including labor in a paper factory; volunteering of his father to go together to Auschwitz; camp life including labor in the laundry and looking after the SS dogs; help from political inmates; serves a courier between the different underground groups in the camp; rescue from selection with help from the German block elder in the infirmary; death march to Mauthausen; transfer to Melk; camp life including labor in the kitchen and help to his ill father by smuggling food; transfer without his father to Gunskirchen; liberation. Life with a group of Jewish youths in Gunskirchen DP camp; move to Linz; reunion with his family; move to Vienna; Bericha and Haganah contacts; attends a technical school; aliya with his family to Israel, 1950.
