Serves in the Polish Army before the war; combat on the front near Warsaw; taken captive by the Germans, 1939; transfer to a POW camp in Minsk Mazowieck; release; return to Vilna; escape to the Soviet Union, June 1941; drafted into the Lithuanian division, 1942; Jewish soldiers in the division; combat; wounded and amputation of his hand.
Return to Vilna; Jewish life in Vilna after the war.
