Letters of testimony written from the Jawiszowice (Jawischowitz) (Poland) labor camp by Jimmy Neumann, originally from Berlin, to Ernst Gross, March 1943-autumn 1944 Sweeping raid in Berlin, arrest of Jews and internment at the Grosse Hamburger Strasse detention camp, then transfer of all Jews in mixed marriages to the Rosenstrasse detention camp, among them Jimmy Neumann and Ernst Gross; release of most of the prisoners, including Ernst Gross, after protest demonstrations by the detainees' Christian wives; deportation of Jimmy Neumann, whose wife did not support his cause, to the Jawiszowice labor camp; letters from Jimmy Neumann to his friend Ernst Gross; parcels from Ernst Gross delivered unofficially to Jimmy Neumann by Max Mueller, a railroad engineer.
