Emigrates from Turkey to Peru in 1928; moves to France together with family; starts a business in France and contacts the Peruvian Consul; Germany invades France; witness sells property because Jews are not allowed to hold real estate; attempts unsuccessfully to escape to Spain; attempts unsuccessfully to obtain a Peruvian passport in order to return to Peru; receives a diplomatic passport with help from the Peruvian Consul; moves family to the Rhein Hotel Dreesen, where South American diplomats in Germany are rounded up and guarded; family liberated in a swap in 1944 and returns to Peru.
