Transcription of interview with Iudit Dita Iofis about her experiences in Kaunas, the Kaunas ghetto, the Stutthof camp, and a death march - transcription of interview with Iudit Dita Iofis, translated into Hebrew from Russian: Childhood in Kaunas (parents: Jechiel and Bryanna Iofis, sister: Lyuba); life under Soviet rule from 1940 on; sister, Lyuba, studies in Wilno; Kaunas bombarded upon eruption of war on June 22, 1941; family attempts to escape and returns to Kaunas; Jews murdered and oppressed by Lithuanians; sister, Lyuba, arrive from Wilno; internment in the Kaunas ghetto from April 1941 on; forced labor; Aktionen in the ghetto; Lyuba's baby son taken away in one of the Aktionen; father dies in 1943; witness, sister, and mother deported to the Stutthof camp; Lyuba sent on to a labor camp; witness and mother remain in Stutthof and survive due to assistance from a German prisoner; death march; liberation by Red Army forces in the course of a death march; back to Kaunas; mother dies in a hospital in Kaunas in August 1945; witness moves to Wilno and then to Klaipėda, where sister, Lyuba, is living; Lyuba and family leave Klaipėda with the intention of immigrating to Eretz Israel; witness's life in Klaipėda.
