Transcript of testimony of Batia (Wegh) Adler, born in Nagovo in 1924, about her experiences before, during, and after the Holocaust Childhood in Nagovo—persecution of Jews by Ukrainians and local inhabitants in 1938–1939; Hungary annexes area in 1939; some rural Jews, including the witness's parents, are deported; witness remains in hiding during the deportation; wanders from hideout to hideout in the area, staying mainly with relatives, in 1941–1943; back to Nagovo in 1943; life in Nagovo with grandmother; sent to Mateszalka ghetto in 1944; forced labor outside the ghetto; deported to Auschwitz; selection: grandmother is sent to extermination; witness sent to Stutthof and thence to Marienburg; forced labor in Wernersdorf in autumn 1944; women prisoners sent back to Stutthof; on to the Praust camp; death march a month and a half long; assistance given by a local resident; area liberated by Red Army forces; witness hospitalized; back to Nagovo; on to Ústí nad Labem; immigrates to Israel in 1949.
