The Sectoral State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine was established by the decision of Ukraine Prime Minister Cabinet on 01 April 1994. The Archive holds documents from the Ukrainian Republic Security Service (and the former Ukrainian Soviet Republic), from 1819 until the present day . The Archive holds documents from the Kiev headquarters and provincial branches of the Security Service.

The documents scanned and sent to Yad Vashem include:
- collections with protocols of interrogations and decisions of the NKVD investigation regarding collaborators and Jewish refugees in Ukraine;
- investigation files of collaborators from the local population in Ukraine and in Crimea: claims regarding the murder of Jews in the regions of Zhitomir, Zaporozhye, Lugansk, Mykolaiv, Kharkov, Khmelnitsky, Cherkassy, Chernivtsi, Chernigov, Ivano-Frankovsk from 1944-1948.
The documentation regarding criminal cases of imprisoned Jewish refugees from Poland and Germany to the Soviet Union in Lvov in 1939-1941 includes detailed information about the defendants: biographies, photographs, fingerprints.
