Documentation from the State Archive of Mykolayiv Region from 1917-1954 With the establishment of the Soviet regime in January 1920, all the archives were nationalized and in 1921 the state archives of the Mykolaiv Region were established. The documentation includes: - documents from numerous fonds in the region of Mykolayiv, Ukraine from 1917-1938; directives of the Communist Party on work with national minorities; correspondence, reports, resolutions, lists of members of the Jewish sector; protocols, personal files of Jews for the elimination of members of Communist Party organizations; lists of members of the Jewish religious community, the closure of synagogues; citizens' statements regarding the return of voting rights, arrangements for Jews on land plots, liquidation of the Ozet organization; memoirs of witnesses of anti-Jewish pogroms in the Jewish colonies in 1919; there are cases regarding the Karaites; - documentation from the Mykolaiv City Council: personal files of Jewish pensioners, guardianships for small children, lists of craftsmen; societies in Dobrenskoye; the 1926 census in alphabetical order; tax-payer card; documentation from the city council of Luck; - documentation from the KGB archive in the city and region of Mykolaiv: personal files of persecuted Jews and Jewish prisoners from 1924-1939, and files with autobiographies of surviving communists 1941-1954. This is a joint project USHMM and Yad Vashem.
