Testimony of Alex Greenberg, born in 38ódź, Poland, 1938, regarding his experiences in Łódź Childhood in an assimilated family in Łódź; his father is a chemist, his mother is a dentist; spoken language at home Polish. Establishment of the Łódź ghetto; his family's home is within the ghetto; saving of his family with the help of his uncle who is a member of the Judenrat; working in a cigarette factory at age five; scarlet fever; family hideout in the attic; appearance of SS soldiers with dogs; eight hundred Jews remaining in the ghetto prior to the liberation.
